Background and purpose of establishment

February 25, 1976, Established by Kadokawa Shoten's founder, KADOKAWA Genyoshi, as his last wish.
August 1, 2018, Became a public interest foundation.
The Kadokawa Culture Promotion Foundation’s objective is to encourage the study of national literature, history, and film arts, as well as the creation of literary arts such as haiku, tanka, and novels while recognizing outstanding achievements.
